Shootout At Lokhandwala is based on a true incident. Did this excite you as an actor?br>
Definitely. The team had loads of research material, which I went through. I also happened to meet up with the ATS Chief A. A. Khan, who led the 1991 encounter in the Lokhandwala area of Andheri. He's also in the film so I could ask him for references and tips all the time. We have totally followed the research but we don't know what happened when they entered the building in Lokhandwala, so the dramatized part inside is fictionalized. That's why the tagline of the film is 'based on true rumours'.
You have played a gangster in so many films and now you're playing a cop in Shootout. Which one do you enjoy more?br> It all depends on the character. If the character is well written and his mannerisms are well defined, then every role is enjoyable. I can't compare really and it's for the audience to tell what they like to see me as. Playing Additional Commissioner Khan was exciting for me.
The promotional tie-in with MSN on Shootout at Lokhandwala is quite unique, and even on Lage Raho Munnabhai there was an innovative MSN promotion with the messenger bot, any special reason?br> On the promotion front, I believe that doing something new every time is the order of the day. MSN has always come up with interesting promotional ideas, which is why we have tied up with them.
Your next White Feather film?br> It's Alibaug, directed by Sanjay Gupta but very different from his earlier films, and I am also in one of the stories in Dus Kahaniyaan.
